Starbucks will hold its Investor Day next month, hosted by Howard Schultz, interim CEO. The company will unveil their coffee-themed NFTs, as part of its brand-new web3 initiative. Starbucks tapped Adam Brotman, architect of its Mobile Order & Pay system and the Starbucks app, for a reprise performance. NFT owners can expect access to exclusive content, one-of-a-kind experiences, broad rewards, and exclusive perks, based on coffee art and storytelling. The details regarding the offerings and features of these digital collectibles have not yet been disclosed, and the final plan may be blockchain-agnostic. Starbuck’s mission has always been to occupy the Third Space, that space between home and work, but why does this have to be limited to a physical space? Starbucks is wisely rolling out a phased approach to the metaverse, one that creates a global digital community defined by collaboration, experiences and shared ownership…all over a cup of coffee.
